From the main profile page select Profile > Edit Details
On the edit details page select the Connect with Facebook button
A login box for facebook will popup. Enter your facebook information.
A popup box will appear letting you know that your password for Beta Accents will now be you Facebook password.
A pop up box will appear showing that the process was successful. Remember to update your email address for Beta Accents as Facebook will not share your email address.
The profile is the main page for members of Beta Accents. Every feature of the community is available to members through this main profile page. From here users can add videos, photos, and groups. Applications can be added to the profile to integrate features of Beat Accents with the profile. User also have a site specific mailbox located on their profile page. Here profile details, the profile picture and privacy setting can be updated.
A report mechanism is provided to report inappropriate submission to the site. Content on the site that can be reported as inappropriate includes; profiles, groups, videos, discussions, and photos. Simply click the report link on one of these content items. * Note even if a piece of content doesn't have a report link, reports can always be made to support@BeatAccents.com *
When the pop up box appears select the category that the inappropriate content applies. Next enter a descriptive summary of what the inappropriate is. When you submit the report it will be emailed to site administrators, who will reveiw the report and take appropriate action.
First select upload video from the main profile page.
A pop up box will appear. Beta Accents allows for two methods to display video contacts. Choose the appropriate method.
If the video is going to be linked to the site, enter the URL. Select the correct category and set the privacy level.
If the video is to be uploaded browse to the correct website. Enter the title and enter a description. Select the correct category and set the privacy level.
From the profile page select photo from the application drop down menu.
Next we need to create an album. Do this by selecting the create album menu item
Enter a name for the album and enter a brief description.
To upload a photo click the browse button and select the photo. Check the box next to the browse button to set that picture as the album cover. Click the green plus sign to upload additional photos in one upload. Finally click the start upload button.
Begin by adding the blog application to your profile.
From the main profile page cliking show all will take you to your new blog.
The Beta Accents is basically two blogs in one. There is a consolidated site blog and each user has an individual Blog. Clicking the home menu link will take you to the consolidated site blog. Clicking the My Account menu link will take you to your individual blog settings.
At the my account page click the preferences tab. Give your blog a title and brief description that will be shown when a user views your blog. Once you have completed this you can start using your blog by clicking the Write New Entry menu link from your blog or the profile main page.
Groups are a place for member with similar interests to connect and create content that works with their interests. Anyone can create a group at no cost. Groups can be either public or private.
When you find a group that you would like to join, click the join group link.
A pop up box will appear to ensure that you want to join the group. Click yes. If the group is public you will immediately be a member of the group. If the group is private you will not become a member until the group admin approves you.
At this time unfortunately you can't add videos or photos for the group. We are currently testing a couple of options to test this functionality. We are looking at either displaying the group members' videos and photos on the group page or having actual listings for just the group. Head over to the forum and let us know which would be better in the Site Suggestions topic.
The Beta Accents event system allows users to list and find rock climbing related events to attend. There is no cost to list events on Beta Accents and anyone may list events. Users can also register for an event as part of the event system.
Select Event > Submit an Event from the main navigation bar. The event submission form will load in the main page area. Enter all required information and as much additional information to be as descriptive as possible. All times must be in 24 hour format. Click save when finished and your event will be auto published.
When you find an event you wish to attend navigate into the detailed event listing. At the bottom of the event listing, below the venue details you will see a registration option if the event creator allows registration. Mark the check box and click the registration button. If the event creator has allow un registration this area will change into a cancel registration area.
Once you have registered for an event you will find that your profile has been updated letting all of your friends know that you will be attending the event.
The Beta Accents event listing system allows for repeating events. It allow for a repeating event to be entered once and then be repeated an unlimited amount of times. You can specify whether it should repeat daily, on a certain week day, or weekly. You can then have this repetition occur at 1-8 week intervals. The new event is not created until the last has finished. This means that if you wanted to create an event that showed in the calandar every Monday you would need to create 4 events that repeated on a weekday every four weeks so that when looking at the calandar you would see a whole months worth of events.
The Beta Accents event system allows users to find rock climbing gyms and wall to visited when they can't make it out to the crag.. There is no cost to list gyms and walls on Beta Accents and anyone may list gyms or walls.
Begin by clicking Add a Gym from the Gym drop down link on the main menu. A subbit gym form will appear in the main page area. Fill in all required information and as much additional information as possible.
If a gym is already in the directory but needs to be updated or deleated, use the Update a Listing option from the Gym drop down listing. Select the correct type of update and provide as much information as possible.
The Beta Accents gear suppliers directory allows users to find rock climbing gear suppliers to visited when the need to get the correct gear. There is no cost to list gyms and walls on Beta Accents and anyone may list gyms or walls. If your gear shop does not carry specific rock climbing gear its alright to list it but let users know in the description that you carry general outdoor gear not rock climbing specific gear.
To add an entry into the suppliers database select Add Entry from the main supplier page.
In the add entry form that loads in the main page area entry all required information and as much additional information as possible
If you have already created an entry in the supplier you can edit or delete the entry when viewing the entry as either a V-card or detailed entry.
If someone has already created an entry for your store but its incomplete or incorrect please contact support@BetaAccents.com. Support staff will transfer ownership of the listing to a store owner or employee so that the listing can be updated. Ensure you include a contact name and business phone number in the email so that the request can be verified.
